FTL TURNAROUND

kingjulianWell, I got to host my first Comedy Show last night. Kivi Rogers and Dan Smith were our comics this week. TT showed me the lights, mic, etc; gave me the scoop on what to do and how to announce them and off I went. I was pretty excited since I had yet to see a show, (with only 120 seats, and the shows sold out from the moment the ship sails it is difficult at the best of times), and now I got to introduce them and watch the whole thing. Once again, I was glad for all the mic work I have done in Key West.
It went really well, and those are two of the funniest men I have ever heard. I was laughing so hard I was crying. The crowd loved it, and because it was the last show of the cruise they went a little long…which means the crowd got something the others did not get.

I got some good laughs with my jokes as well, and learned a lot just watching the two comics. I’ll be better at it next time, though it was a really good first effort. I’m not used to having to make people laugh. At most I have done a beat-beat-laugh-song…not a full couple minutes of a routine. I will have to work some material up.

Last night before the Comedy Show we had our Staff Meeting. Apparently, the little brainstorming session we did the other day has had some effect. Frankly, I’m surprised in some ways, and not in others. Amy has cut out some of the lowest attended activities, like the Wii, and this has freed several hours up for us. It had to be done with us being down a person, but the rest of the team was surprised when it happened.

I have the day off today, so off to FTL to do some shopping for necessities. I can’t believe I am going on my 7th Week already. Hopefully this week I can get off in Cozumel. We will see.
